The Silver Saga

started in 2013
YA high fantasy quartet exploring themes of family, forgiveness, and identity

book one: Remnant

cover by Abigail Grace

ABOUT: An epic fantasy following young nobody Aionladon as he learns his family’s history and struggles to accept his place as an unknown hero and unwanted son. (That’s a very bad description of a sprawling and complicated plot with achingly beautiful moments and epic battles and all sorts of wonderful things… someday, when it’s done.)

THEMES: forgiveness, grace, identity, family

STATUS: currently ~80 words long (projected final length ~150k). I am planning to finish writing it, but I’m not sure it’s bound for publication; right now it is a mess of cliches and tropes, but I it love anyway, because it’s my mess.

When she opens her eyes, his are so close, so close. Brilliantly silver, flecked with blue.

“You can’t change what you did,” she says. “Can’t change the past.”

“Your eyes are so blue,” he murmurs. “So beautifully blue.”

“‘Streaked through by silver,’” she quotes his poem.

“You remembered,” he says.

His smile was a memory.

She was trying to forget.

book two: Paradise | book three: Kindred | book four: Captive

All of these sequels are very much on hold/in development as I try to figure out where the story is going and if it’s something I want to finish. Check back for more info in the future!

untitled seamages story

started 2016; rewritten 2020-2022
YA fantasy feat. found family, betrayals, and bittersweet endings

ABOUT:

I was raised to believe a lie.

Orphaned at age thirteen, Luca Erith — along with her seven brothers — are mysteriously taken in by Liam, the king of Damakos. He offers no explanation for his kindness and refuses to answer Erith’s questions. While seeking answers about the manner of her father’s death, Erith learns that it may be connected to the deaths of the previous rulers, Liam’s parents.

Everyone knows that mages are evil, and that the king and queen were killed by one.

But no one ever told Erith that her father was a mage.

STATUS: ~25k (goal is ~60k; currently in progress and the nearest of my novels to a state I’d consider publication-worthy). Variously known as thalassa, erith, or seamages.
